VGI PLC, the leader of Offline-to-Online (“O2O”) solutions across advertising, payment and logistics platforms, launches the campaign – “VGI GIFT FOR GIVING” – urging Thai people to reduce the use of single-use plastics.

Today, all across the world, people are facing complex and numerous environmental problems, in particular that concerning plastic pollution which has become increasingly critical in recent years. Thailand stands in the top five of countries with the most plastic waste in the world, with over 27 million tonnes produced each year.  This prompts a wake-up call for all parties – the public and private sectors and the general public – to take immediate actions to solve the problem.

As a leading media agency, VGI recognises the crucial role we can play in using our media space for the benefit of the wider society; therefore, we have come up with the campaign – “VGI GIFT FOR GIVING” – whereby we will be using our media platforms to raise awareness about the plastic waste crisis and call upon the general public to cut back on single-use plastics in their daily lives and to opt instead for eco-friendly and sustainable alternatives.  This is part of our corporate responsibility goals to create sustainable solutions for the society and the environment.

In addition, we are distributing eco-friendly wheat cups to encourage meaningful participation and tangible behaviour change among the general public.  Interested parties can receive more information via our Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/VGIPublicCompanyLimited.  The campaign will run from 25 December 2019 to 17 January 2020.
