VGI and Root the Future Team Up to Raise Climate Awareness on BTS’s Digital Screens through the “Climate Hero” campaign

VGI PLC, the leader Marketing Offline-to-Online (“O2O”) Solutions provider across multiple platforms, follows through with its mission to deliver sustainable business for all stakeholders, society and the environment, joining forces with the environmental non-profit, Root the Future, to launch the “Climate Hero” campaign on VGI’s digital screens on BTS stations and trains to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a sustainable lifestyle and reducing the carbon footprint.

Recognising the immense power of media in raising public awareness, VGI teams up with Root the Future to deliver content about the climate on VGI’s digital screens on BTS Stations to urge the public to play a part in helping to reduce carbon emissions that contribute to climate change by adapting their daily behaviours, for instance by commuting on clean energy public transportation such as the BTS Skytrain. Since beginning its operation 23 years ago, BTS has contributed to reducing over 1.9 million tons of carbon emissions.

Additionally, there are many ways in which everyone can become a “Climate Hero” and help reduce the carbon footprint, be it through avoiding polluting and destroying the environment, reducing waste and using resources sustainably, or eating more plant-based food. Livestock farming is in fact found to produce significant greenhouse gas emissions. By reducing 100,000 tons of meat and opting instead for plant-based products, carbon emissions can be reduced by 330,000 tons per year. Therefore, consuming more plant-based meals can also be an easy way everyone can become a hero and help protect our planet in a sustainable way.
