VGI PLC (VGI), the leader of Offline-to-Online (“O2O”) Solutions across multiple platforms, together with the advertising agency, SOUR Bangkok, propelled the Thai Ad campaign, “Whoscall: The Safety Stations” to the global stage, making one of the shortlisted entrants for the “Best Response Campaign” category at the Festival of Media Global Awards 2023, an event dedicated to the celebration of the best media campaigns from around the world, decided by world-renowned jurors from media agencies, client brands and adtech companies. This is yet another prestigious accolade the campaign has received, after having won a Silver trophy for “Best Use of Audio” at the Festival of Media APAC Awards earlier this year.

“Whoscall” The Safety Stations” represents a new phenomenon in the Thai media landscape, where innovative Customisation technology was cleverly applied to create fun, memorable and easy-to-digest content to alert the public about the harm from call center scammers, presently widespread in the Thai society. Through the campaign, announcements on the BTS SkyTrain platform were tactically curated with tailored messages for different target groups according to the station and time of day, such as “Thong Lo Station, Don’t be Fooled by a Handsome Voice” or “Chong Nonsi Station, There is No Room for Scammers,” not only creating high Impact Awareness, but also Call to Action for people to download a Scam Detector App to avoid falling prey to scammers.
