VGI PLC or VGI, the leader of Offline-to-Online (“O2O”) Solutions across multiple platforms, led by Vice Chairman, Mr. Marut Arthakaivalvatee, along with staff members, provided scholarships and educational supplies such as musical equipment and computers, worth THB 200,000, for students at Ban Dong Yang Narai School in Phen district, Udon Thani province, as well as participated in reforestation activity and restoration of the school’s playground. This is part of the “1 Day, 1,000 Smiles” Project, organised for the 15th time as part of the Company’s mission to create sustainable business for all stakeholders, the society and the environment. This charitable pursuit also grew out of VGI’s recognition of the problem of inequality in education in Thailand, and the importance of promoting equitable access to education and technology for all.

The ”1 Day, 1,000 Smiles” Project has been organised with the aim to offer another force to uplift the quality of life of people in the society. VGI believes that through expanding access to educational opportunities, the skills and capacity of the country’s human capital will be enhanced, and hence leading to sustainable returns for the country overall. This conviction is proven through the successful outcomes of the project throughout the 15 times it was organised, where it is found that the quality of life of children and youth and the people in the areas VGI has visited and supported has improved. For instance, a follow up visit of the 6th “1 Day, 1,000 Smiles” activity at Rajaprachanugroh School 14 at Khai Bok Wan sub-district, Muang district, Nong Khai province, found that the school was able to use the education equipment donated in their teaching and learning activities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, where teachers were able to use IT devices for online lessons, while the school also served as a knowledge and technology hub for people in the community.

With such fruitful outcomes, VGI is driven to continue to conduct its business in an efficient and socially responsible manner to give back to society in a sustainable way.
