HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT

VGI places great importance on the professional and personal growth of our personnel. To fulfil the vision of becoming the “Pioneering Solutions for Tomorrow,” we are committed to providing adequate hard and soft skills training for our employees at all levels so that they are knowledgeable, competent and skillful, and thus become more effective.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

At VGI, our employees are the key to our success. As such, our commitment to providing a positive and productive environment for all is of the utmost importance. We respect and promote fundamental human rights at work pursuant to international standards and strictly observe relevant laws and regulations in our recruitment process, performance evaluation, determination and salary increment to ensure fair and equal treatment
as well as fair remuneration for all our staff.

Moreover, VGI has appointed a Welfare Committee consisting of 5 members as stipulated by the Labor Protection Act. The committee, which represents 100% of employees, holds collective bargaining power to negotiate welfare-related matters with the company. They also regularly engage with employees to discuss working conditions.

the team leads to better performance.

SAFETY OF EMPLOYEES

VGI pays close attention to the health, well-being and safety of all employees. We have put in place a safety management system in compliance with international standards and applicable laws to provide a safe working environment and ensure the highest level of safety for our staff.

VGI conducts occupational health and safety risk and hazard assessments to identify potential workplace risks. Identified risks are addressed through appropriate action plans and quantified targets, with OHS performance evaluated against established targets.

VGI also conducts internal workplace safety inspections covering key areas including fire safety, workstations and walkways, electrical systems and equipment, workplace environment and ergonomics, and sanitation. These inspections support the identification and prevention of potential workplace hazards.

VGI has established measures to prepare for and respond to emergency situations, as well as procedures for reporting and investigating work-related incidents.

We also regularly provide OHS training to employees and relevant parties to increase knowledge, skills and awareness of occupational health and safety, and to promote a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Employee Engagement and Performance Appraisal

VGI measures the performance of their employees to identify the areas of personal development for each individual as well as the team performance. As VGI aims to improve employee skillsets, the company establishes both qualitative and quantitative goals and targets and criteria for assessing individual employee performance (criteria in the appraisal system and performance review including compliance with code of conduct) and team-based performance which would determine employee’s remuneration and compensation. VGI assesses the performance of specific teams and departments by assessing the performance against the team goals. VGI believes that teamwork is the key to better business performance. 

The performance appraisal was also conducted with 360-degree feedback to ensure that feedback are obtain from various employee positions including peers, direct supervisor and subordinates. The assessment is an ongoing process.

VGI encourages the continuous improvement and development of its employees. Therefore, VGI has set a performance appraisal system based on regular conversations and continuous improvements at an ongoing basis with regular monthly check ins.

Employee engagement surveys are conducted to evaluate employee satisfaction and commitment to the organisation. The survey takes into account of various aspect such as job satisfaction, work environment, type of work, job experience, quality of life with work life balance (level of stress and happiness), stability, purpose and promotion, supervisor and colleague and internal communication.

PAYING A LIVING WAGE, EQUAL REMUNERATION, ANNUAL LEAVE AND HOLIDAYS

At VGI, we regularly survey and benchmark our salary structures against market data through the Personnel Management Association of Thailand (PMAT) to support fair and competitive employee compensation and benefits. In determining employee remuneration, we consider relevant factors including job responsibilities, performance, economic conditions, cost of living, prevailing market remuneration, and the Company’s ability to pay. We are committed to providing employees with a living wage that is sufficient to meet the basic needs of employees and their families, as well as providing all legally required benefits in a timely manner.

VGI is committed to the principle of equal pay for equal work. Employee remuneration is determined based on relevant factors such as job responsibilities, performance, skills, and experience. Our Human Resources Policy promotes gender equality and provides for maintaining balanced remuneration between female and male employees within comparable job categories, supporting fair and equitable remuneration without gender bias.

Employees are entitled to paid annual leave and statutory holidays in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable legal requirements. To support employee well-being and work-life balance, VGI actively encourages employees to utilise their annual leave entitlements. HR promotes and communicates the use of annual leave through internal employee communication channels, including the Company’s intranet and VGI Society, its official LINE account for employees, encouraging employees to plan and take their entitled annual leave.

WORKING HOURS MANAGEMENT

We promote a healthy work-life balance for all employees. Our standard working hours are set at 8 hours per day and 48  hours per week for regular work, and we closely monitor them. We commit to avoiding or reducing overtime and excessive working hours. Employees can request to work overtime, when necessary, subject to official approval and get compensation at appropriate rate, and we have a tracking system in place for overtime requests and approvals.

NOTICE PERIODS FOR TERMINATION

In the event of termination, our policy is to provide the legally required notice period and appropriate severance pay, ensuring employees have sufficient time for preparation and are treated fairly.

EXPANDING SOCIAL PROTECTION COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES

We recognise that public social protection programs may not fully meet the long-term security needs of our employees. Therefore, we are committed to expanding social protection coverage to create a stronger safety net for everyone’s life and career. 

Provident Fund: The company and its employees have jointly established a provident fund as a long-term savings tool for retirement. This provides employees with a financial reserve in addition to public benefits.

Group Health Insurance: We provide group health insurance for all employees to help reduce medical expenses in the event of illness or an accident, ensuring our people and their families have access to better medical services.

Scholarships for Employees’ Children: To support educational opportunities and ease the financial burden on employee families.

For employee development, we believe in a variety of learning methods. Apart from group learning to build shared skills, we also provide one-on-one coaching, so each employee gets the specific development they need to leverage their personal strengths. 

Over the past year, we have organised various training sessions to our people, ensuring all employees grow with the company. Last year, we organised a variety of training initiatives, including:

Leadership Development Program: This program focuses on building the next generation of leaders to prepare them for future roles within the organisation.

Cultural Education: This activity was designed to let our employees get to know different cultures from various local parts of Thailand.

Transition Program for Retiring and Terminated Employees: We offer this program to help employees who are leaving the company confidently plan for the next phase of their lives.

Sustainability Training: This initiative promotes awareness and understanding of environmental and social issues, so everyone can apply sustainability principles to their daily work in various topics (sustainability in VGI, energy efficiency, water consumption, waste reduction, or greenhouse gas emissions).

AI Training: We provided activities to empower our employees to apply new technologies to their work more effectively.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING AT VGI

VGI highly values the importance of occupational health and safety and wellbeing of all employees and their families. The awareness and trend of improving work-life balance of employees has proven to be a major factor for the health and safety of our employees and also improving employee satisfaction and lifestyle. Below are a few of many programmes that VGI provide to their employee’s in order to enhance their work-life balance.

FLEXIBLE WORKING HOURS

VGI Employees have been given the opportunity for flexible working hours in order to accommodate their daily work life balance and other commitments. With the appropriate roles and responsibilities of employees that are eligible, they can request with their supervisors and Human Resources Department where they will be assessed on key criteria such as appropriateness and whether this will have impact to business operations. Subject to approving flexible working hours or not, all employees must maintain the number of daily working hours under relevant national labour laws.

PART-TIME WORKING OPTION

VGI values flexibility and arranges effective support for employees who wish to commit to their other priorities. Part-time work option is offered to support flexibility and suitability for individuals who are looking to balance work with other commitments.

CHILDCARE CONTRIBUTIONS

Eligible employees who have been with the company for a while can apply for the VGI Child Scholarship Programme in order to support their children’s academic fees and tuition. VGI values and emphasises the importance of academic studies therefore aims to support the opportunity for employee’s children to pursue their academic and future career pathway. These academic scholarships are provided to children in Kindergarten to University students completing their Bachelor’s degree.

PATERNITY LEAVE

VGI realises the importance of work-life balance and relationships of employees within their family especially with caring for their new born child. VGI sees the importance of the responsibility and therefore allows 53 days of paid leave for female employees, which is on top of normal paid vacation time, to support the birth, adoption, or fostering of a child. VGI also supports male employees beyond national labour laws on paternity leave, they can request their Human Resources Department for paternity leave up to 10 paid paternity leave days within the first month of their new born child.

INFIRMARY AND BREAST-FEEDING/LACTATION FACILITIES

VGI places high importance on the health of employees. To support this, the company provides a medical room equipped with medical personnel who can offer basic medical treatment, first aid for minor injuries, and dispense medications for minor illnesses.

Additionally, a lactation room at workplace is dedicated for new mothers to breast-feed or breast-pump for their newborn child. The lactation room offers privacy, comfort, hygienic space as well as breast milk storage facilities that are in line with the recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health.

CHILDCARE CENTRE

VGI provides a childcare centre located at Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited’s facility during working hours for all employees who are parents. Children eligible for the Centre must be between 3 and 12 years old. The children are well cared for by a group of staff. The children participate in a variety of creative activities to enhance their learning skills in different areas, including skill sharing through peer collaboration.

CARE LEAVE

Paid leave is granted to the employee in order to take care of a spouse, child, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent and sibling when this person requires additional care due to physical or mental health condition.  This is separate from paid parental leave. 

WORKPLACE STRESS MANAGEMENT

VGI aims to create a happier environment for their workforce. This brings about the prioritization in the mental health by providing stress relax room and a program to reduce the employee’s stress level at the workplace and general personal life through mentorship and counseling.

SPORT & HEALTH INITIATIVES

VGI regularly organises various health promotion activities for employees to strengthen the organisation’s safety culture. The projects include annual health check-ups, fitness, and exercise classes such as running clubs, yoga, and aerobics.

RESPONSIBLE CONTENTS

At VGI, media oversight is one of our top priorities. We take great effort to ensure the safety, trustworthiness, and values to society of all advertising contents on our platforms, also making sure that they are not in violation of any law or moral code, or may disrupt social order. Thus, our Legal and Compliance Division is tasked with oversight responsibility, where it shall inspect all advertising contents prior to every broadcasting.

VGI MEDIA SHARING

Moreover, VGI consistently utilizes our advertising platforms to promote contents that are beneficial for society, such as current news, weather report, financial news, including gold and gasoline prices, and social activities and campaigns of VGI, our business partners and other entities.
